About BigLittle CatDog

BigLittle CatDog was born in 2007, based on the idea that each and every pet should be recognized as an individual, and treated by their care takers with the same love and respect that we give our own pets. With experience and love, we take the time to get to know each pet, and cater to their specific needs and personalities. This intimate connection allows us to report back to you what we see, whether its progress in areas, behavioral or emotional changes, or minor and major physical ailments.

With a background in training and dog walking, our “hiking philosophy” is that exercise, training, and socialization can be combined in a fun way that encourages growth for all!

Staff at BigLittle CatDog

Shannon Mayer (Owner/Care Giver)

I have been professionally pet sitting for over 10 years, and running doggy play groups for 4 years. What started off as a love of animals instilled by my family has grown into a deep passion and career!

I am also a Level 1 trainer at Picture Perfect Pets while I finish up schooling for dog training. I am animal first aid certified, and able to administer a wide range of medications (including fluids and insulin)

Being with animals brings a joy and sense of calm that nothing can touch! I have the best job -- taking care of your pets!

Cedar Goldman and Lucky (Part-time facilitators of hiking and fun)

We first met Cedar and her Goldendoodle Lucky during the winter of 2009, just after they moved to Arlington. Almost daily, we would run into them in the woods on their daily hike, despite snow, rain, or bitter cold. In spring of 2010, Cedar called to ask if Lucky could be part of our pack and join in on our daily hikes. When the chance arose in early summer 2010, I jumped at the opportunity to ask Cedar to work with us part time. We are so happy to both Cedar and Lucky as part of our family. Cedar, Lucky and Cedar’s fiancé live in Arlington, where they also share their home with 2 cats.

Katie Haley

"Growing up, my family always had cats for pets. But I always wanted a dog! When I lived on my own in college, I got my pup Carly! It is the best thing I've done! I am comforted and intrigued by my dog every day. She truly is my best friend! I am an avid hiker and just love being outdoors! Dogs really compliment my active lifestyle. And when it's time to relax, dogs are the best companions and snuggle buddies! It is my pleasure to take care of your pets and each day provide them with a healthy dose of exercise, love and friendship!" - Katie Haley
